IMPORTANT: To apply for a title correction or replacement in Richmond County, the vehicle must be titled in Georgia. If the vehicle is titled outside of Georgia, the request must be submitted to the state where the vehicle is currently titled.

Name Change Due to Court Order, Divorce or Marriage

The following documents are required:

• Current Georgia Title
• Title Application (Form MV-1)
• A certified copy of the legal document authorizing the name change
• Driver’s License/state issued ID reflecting current name
• Fee of $18

Replacement Titles

The following documents are required:

• Title Application (Form MV-1)
• Driver’s License/state issued ID of the current owner
• Lien release if applicable
• Fee of $8

Note: Corrections and replacements can only occur on Georgia titles. When applying for a replacement title, any changes to the title will result in an $18 fee.
